Notes: This extraordinary candlestick features a solid crown of the wonderful tulipwood, and a bizarre twist of a long single barley and a 12-start spiral. The base is a third generation laminate that was initially a 6-foot maple board with a narrow strip of tulipwood and blackwood down the center that was cut and glued together, and recut and glued together, and recut again and glued together to make the final form, something that resembles a crown of thorns. There is certainly nothing else like it in my repertoire.
