Notes:

This candlestick features the beautiful rosewood Brazilian tulipwood, which, although not listed in the CITES appendices, now has an export ban by the Brazilian government. Outstanding examples of tulipwood are becoming exceedingly difficult to find and extremely expensive.  I had made the ebony-holly-tulipwood laminate several years ago and finally used it in making this base.  A laminate is a number of woods glued together in strips. It also took some slight-of-hand to make the scalloped crown.
