Notes:

This candlestick fits any definition of unique, as it is certainly the only one that I made using this solid slanted layer technique.  This proved to be considerably more difficult than it seemed it would be: trying not to waste any more wood than I needed to, gluing all the odd-shaped pieces together with no gaps, and mounting the strange shape to the lathe. The South American bloodwood does match the Australian red mallee burl nicely, though, and I like the overall effect.
